Puerta del Mar is located to the west of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA in one of the far western reaches of Santa Barbara County. Residing less than 10 miles from the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Puerta del Mar is at the confluence of where the cool marine influence of the Pacific Ocean rushes in to infiltrate the inland Santa Ynez valley.
