This year Premier Pacific Vineyards was proud to sponsor and be part of the fourth annual Hospices of Sonoma Pinot Noir Barrel Auction.  This years Auction raised $455,000 which will go to benefit children with cancer, children in foster care and injured American military personnel and their families.
A 2006 Landmark Gap’s Crown Pinot Noir barrel lot was part of the event and went for $5,200, or $520 a case.

Here are some comments from notable wine writers about the 2006 Landmark Gap’s Crown Pinot Noir:

Dan Berger – former LA Times wine columnist who has written several books about wine and various wine growing regions of California.

“Dark color, deep spice.  Thick and unctuous.  Powerhouse!”

Gregory Walter – editor of the PinotReport, a James Beard Award winner, and former president of The Wine Spectator.

“Meaty, complex red cherry aromas and flavors.  Balanced tannins.  Long finish.”

Doug Wilder – wine critic and Director of California Acquisitions and Sales for Vinfolio.

“Lots of presence, dusty dark cherry and layers of emerging complexity.  The palate is beautifully focused and impressive.”
